School Administrator
Wildwood Independent School
Position Type: Part-Time (Flexible Schedule) Start Date: September 2025
Location: Sunshine Coast, BC
Position Overview:
Wildwood Independent School, a new and innovative independent school set to launch in September 2025, is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive School Administrator to join our team. In our inaugural year, we will serve 16 students in grades 6–8 with a small, dynamic team of 2 teachers and a part time Education Assistant. The administrator will play a critical role in the operational success of the school, overseeing administrative tasks, managing financial processes, and ensuring organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administrative Management
● Maintain all school records, including student files, teacher certifications, and compliance documentation.
● Organize and manage school calendars, scheduling, and correspondence.
● Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements as per the BC Independent School Act.
● Support with logistical planning for events, meetings, and activities.
2. Financial and Grants Administration
● Process and track tuition payments and grants, including BC Independent School per-student funding.
● Prepare and submit grant applications and required documentation in compliance with funding body guidelines.
● Generate invoices and track receivables for tuition and other school fees.
● Maintain a record of all expenses and assist with basic bookkeeping tasks.
3. Communication and Stakeholder Relations
● Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, staff, and external stakeholders regarding administrative matters.
● Communicate deadlines, requirements, and updates to families and staff in a timely manner.
● Build positive relationships with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and the local community.
4. Organizational Support
● Develop and maintain a structured filing and documentation system for the school’s operations.
● Assist the teaching staff with administrative needs, such as supply ordering or classroom logistics.
● Coordinate with external service providers (e.g., IT, maintenance).
● Proactively identify and implement processes to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
● Proven experience in administration, office management, or similar roles (experience in an educational setting is an asset).
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and basic accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
● Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
● Financial literacy, including experience managing invoices, budgets, and government
grants.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work independently in a startup environment with evolving priorities.
● Familiarity with BC Independent School policies and procedures (preferred but not
required).
● Criminal Record Check is required
● First Aid Certification is an asset

Math & Science Teacher
(Grades 6–8)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Math and Science (focused) Teacher to join our founding team and help shape the future of Wildwood Independent School.
Position Overview:
The Math Teacher will teach foundational math skills to students in grades 6–8, fostering confidence, curiosity, and problem-solving abilities. This is a part-time role (0.2-0.6 FTE) with flexible scheduling to accommodate the needs of both the teacher and the school. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for math education, creativity in teaching methods, and a collaborative spirit to help establish a strong foundation for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and deliver engaging math and science lessons aligned with the BC curriculum, focusing on foundational concepts for grades 6–8.
● Use differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
● Incorporate hands-on, project-based, and inquiry-driven approaches to teaching math and science.
● Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing feedback to support growth.
● Collaborate with colleagues to integrate math and science into cross-curricular projects and outdoor learning opportunities.
● Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and engage them in supporting their child's math and science development.
● Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (required).
● Valid BC Teaching Certificate or eligibility for certification (required).
● Experience teaching math to middle school students (grades 6–8 preferred).
● Strong understanding of the BC math curriculum and competency-based learning.
● Creative and flexible approach to teaching, with an ability to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.

The Humanities Teacher will be responsible for teaching foundational skills in language arts, history, geography, and social studies. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, passion, and an interdisciplinary approach to teaching, connecting classroom learning with real-world applications and outdoor experiences.
