Applications For The 2025/26 School Year Are Now Open!

We’re so glad you’re considering Wildwood Independent School, where learning happens through forest-based exploration, hands-on inquiry, and outdoor leadership experiences. Choosing the right educational path for your child is a significant decision, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

For any questions or to learn more about our admissions process, please feel free to contact Katie Shindler. She’ll be happy to guide you through next steps and help you determine if Wildwood is the right fit for your child.

If you prefer, you can fill out our online inquiry form, and we’ll be in touch promptly.

There are 16 spaces available each year. We welcome applications for Grades 6, 7, 8, and grade 9 (starting 2026/27).

At Wildwood, students immerse themselves in the natural world, engaging in meaningful, cross curricular projects that foster resilience, critical thinking, and a deep connection to the environment. We look forward to welcoming your family into our community!

  • Step 1 - We accept applications on a rolling basis, next intake is September 2025.

    • To connect with us, please get in touch via our  enquiry page or email info@wildwoodindependentschool.ca. We’ll get right back to you and arrange for yours and your student’s visits.

  • Step 2 - Book a school visit for you and your child

A student visit is an essential part of our admissions process, allowing your child to immerse themselves in the Wildwood experience. Spending a day with us provides a hands-on opportunity to explore our forest-based learning environment, engage in inquiry-driven projects, and connect with our close-knit community.

Your child will be paired with a buddy and will join in outdoor explorations, collaborative learning activities, and core academic sessions. This visit gives them the chance to meet teachers, future classmates, and experience the rhythm of a Wildwood school day.

Parents are welcome to join for a few minutes to observe, before meeting with our Teaching Principal while their child continues participating in activities with their potential class.

We look forward to welcoming your child to experience Wildwood firsthand!

  • Step 3 - Decision

Once we’ve received your application form, fee, and supporting documents, and after you and your child have spent a day exploring Wildwood, we will carefully review your application. We’ll then notify you in writing of our decision.

If your child is offered a place at Wildwood, you’ll receive an enrollment offer with details on how to confirm their spot and join our community of curious, capable, and nature-connected learners.

We look forward to welcoming your family to Wildwood Independent School!

  • Step 4 - Enrolment

To confirm your child’s place at Island Pacific School, you’ll complete and return the required documents listed in your acceptance letter by the specified deadline. This will include:

    • Additional school forms

    • A review of volunteer and fundraising commitments

    • Signing and returning the contract and tuition agreement

2025–26 Tuition Fees: $10,800

Wildwood Independent School is a not-for-profit organization where tuition directly supports essential operating costs, including teacher salaries, learning resources, and the maintenance of both indoor and outdoor learning spaces. To continue providing an exceptional forest-based education, we also rely on fundraising and community support to enhance student experiences.

A non-refundable application fee of $200 is due with the application.

Upon acceptance, a non-refundable $500 tuition deposit is required, which will be applied toward the total tuition fee. Additional activity fees ($1,000) and technology fees ($275) are also non-refundable.

To encourage student leadership and responsibility, each student is asked to raise $250 through their own fundraising efforts to support outdoor expeditions and experiential learning adventures. This contribution is due by April 30 of the year they begin their journey at Wildwood.

For students who require additional learning support, an annual fee will be assessed based on the level of support needed:

  • One block per week: $1,200 annually
